What this covers
This Privacy Policy explains what information The Daily Hit (“we”, “us”) collects when you use thedailyhit.co and anything else we offer (the “Service”), how we use it and who we share it with. It is part of our Terms of Service. By using the Service you agree to it. We keep what we collect to a minimum: most of the Service works without an account.
What we collect
What you give us
- Account: your email address and password when you create an account. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash by our sign-in provider; we can’t see them.
- Settings: the sportsbooks you pick on Your books.
- Email list and waitlists: your email address, when you sign up for the daily email or the Pro waitlist, and where you signed up.
- Pro: payments are handled by Whop. We receive your subscription’s status, plan, renewal date and Whop’s ids for it. We never receive or store your card number.
- Messages: anything you send us by email.
What we collect automatically
- Technical data: like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, the referring page and the time, and keeps it in server logs for security and to run the Service.
- Usage data: we may use analytics tools to count visits and see which pages and features are used, so we can improve the Service.
Cookies and browser storage
We use a small number of cookies and browser storage, only to make the Service work:
- Sign-in cookies keep you signed in.
- A “books” cookie remembers which sportsbooks you picked, signed in or not.
- Browser storage keeps your recent searches and parlay calculator picks on your device. It isn’t sent to us.
We don’t use advertising cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but signing in and saved settings won’t work without them. Our analytics tools, if any, may set their own cookies or use similar technology. We don’t respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because there is no common standard for them.
How we use it
- to run, maintain, secure and improve the Service;
- to create and manage your account, remember your settings and give Pro to those who pay for it;
- to send emails you asked for (the daily email, password resets, the Pro launch) and messages about your account, Pro or changes to our terms;
- to answer you when you write to us;
- to prevent and look into fraud, abuse, scraping, security problems and breaches of our Terms;
- to comply with the law, and to establish, use or defend legal claims.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising. We share it only:
- With service providers who run parts of the Service for us and may use it only to do that: our hosting provider (Netlify), our sign-in and database provider (Supabase), our payment processor (Whop), our email delivery provider and our analytics provider, if any.
- For legal reasons, when we believe in good faith that it’s required by law, a subpoena, court order or other legal process, or needed to protect the rights, property or safety of The Daily Hit, our users or anyone else, or to investigate fraud or breaches of our Terms.
- In a business change, such as a merger, sale of assets, financing or reorganization, as part of what’s transferred. This Policy would keep applying to it.
- With your consent, or when you ask us to.
We may share information that doesn’t identify you, such as totals and statistics, with anyone.
Public information about others
Some pages show information that is already public, such as player and team stats, and the wallet address and public leaderboard record behind a large trade on Polymarket. We show it as it is published. We don’t show names, pictures or profiles for those wallets.
How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account exists, and email list sign-ups until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. When you delete your account, we delete it and your settings, but we may keep some information as long as needed for billing and tax records, to resolve disputes, to prevent fraud or abuse, to enforce our Terms or to comply with the law. Server logs and backups are kept for a limited time and then deleted or overwritten.
Your choices
- Change your email or password, or delete your account, on your account page.
- Unsubscribe from the daily email using the link in any email, or by writing to us.
- Cancel Pro from “Manage subscription” on your account page.
- Clear cookies and browser storage in your browser settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to get a copy, or to have it deleted. Email admin@thedailyhit.co from the address on your account. We may need to confirm it’s you before we act, and we may decline requests the law allows us to decline. We won’t treat you differently for making a request.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is completely secure, though, and we can’t guarantee that information won’t be accessed, lost or changed. You are responsible for keeping your password private. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we’ll tell you where the law requires.
Age
The Service is only for people 21 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you think someone under 21 has given us information, email admin@thedailyhit.co and we’ll delete it.
Where it’s kept
We are based in the United States, and our providers store and process information in the United States and possibly elsewhere. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you agree to your information being moved to and handled in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from yours.
Changes to this Policy
We may change this Policy at any time by posting a new version here with a new “Last updated” date. If a change is significant, we’ll also tell account holders by email or on the site. Using the Service after a change means you accept it.
